Dr. Manish Bhalla, a recipient of CSIR SRF & RA in the area of Chemistry, has done his Ph.D. from Lucknow University is the Registrar of the University. He worked as Assistant Director at All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India involved in formulation, planning and implementing various schemes on Technical Education in the country. He has rich experience of heading academic institutions and published several peer-reviewed journal papers to his credit. His post-doctoral research was on Chemistry/bio-chemistry combined with Pharmacology.

He is also a life member of several professional bodies and also visited developed nations like Japan, Canada, Neitherlands under various fellowships. With his diverse experience of administration, management and research, his contributions have been of immense value in enriching the University’s administrative and research activities.

Director - Admissions & Outreach (SRM Group of Institutions - North India)

Prior to the present assignment, he was Director – Admissions & Outreach at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, and Deputy Director – Admissions at O.P Jindal Global University. Mr. Kumar has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli and an MCA degree from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. Prior to joining Jindal Global University, Mr. Kumar was working with Rainmaker, New Delhi, as National Marketing Manager where he was primarily responsible for the marketing, sales and growth strategy of educational products and services, a planning and Implementation architect of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) in India.

He also worked with LST/Career Launcher India Ltd. which is among South Asia’s leading edu–corporates, as National Manager –Sales and Marketing for www.lawentrance.com, India’s no.1 website for law aspirants and information about law schools. He has an overall experience of 15 years in Consulting, Legal Education, Admissions, Outreach, Assessment and Knowledge services for the Legal Industry.

Director Centre for Drug Design Discovery and Development (C4D)

Dr. V. Samuel Raj has joined as the Professor of Microbiology and Biotechnology and Director of the Centre for Drug Design Discovery & Development (C4D) at SRM University Haryana on November 1, 2014. He has joined SRM University Haryana with 10 years R&D experience from 2 major pharma giants Ranbaxy and Daiichi Sankyo and 15 years international and national research experience. He has special interest on neglected diseases (TB, Leishmaniasis, Malaria and Dengue) and initiated the open innovation, international collaboration between the academics and industries to discover new drugs against infectious diseases with special focus on neglected diseases.

Dr. Samuel has worked as the Assistant Director of Microbiology, Daiichi Sankyo India Pharma Private Limited and led major drug discovery projects against infectious diseases. He has the experience as Group Leader of Microbiology at Ranbaxy Research Laboratories and led many drug discovery projects against infectious diseases. Before joining Ranbaxy, he worked as Visiting Scientist (Faculty) in the Department of Microbiology, School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

He has done PhD (Microbiology) from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1993. He did post-doctoral research at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Academia Sincia, Taipei, Taiwan; Chiba University, Chiba, Japan and Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA. He has been invited as a prominent scientific leader at various scientific meetings, workshops and symposium in UK, USA, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, China, India and so forth. Two international patents as antibacterial agents are registered in his name and he has many research publications in high impact international journals. One of the publications in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases (2007) made a change in the practice of prophylaxis against meningitis during epidemics.

He has won many awards and fellowships in USA, Japan, Switzerland, UK, Taiwan and India including the prestigious Tokyo Biochemical Research Foundation (TBRF) award and Commonwealth Fellowship. He was recognized as the distinguished alumni of Microbiology in 50 years and invited to deliver the distinguished lecture series during the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi. He is the recipient of Karmaveer Chakra and REX Global Fellowship in 2012 as a recognition of his contribution in the field of Medical Sciences. He has been selected as one of the leader in the scientific field and invited to attend the “Next Generation Leaders Meet” organized by Stein am Rhein Symposium (STARS ’09), Switzerland and awarded as STARS Fellow by STARS organization, Switzerland.
