The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering department has a very valuable heritage of teaching and research and is considered to be superior in Electrical Engineering education in India.
Our well educated and highly talented faculty members focuses on research of latest technologies and publish them regularly in many top level International Journals. The Department includes the activities of fundamental research, sponsored and consultancy projects, and our students, faculty and corporate engineers all participate actively in these activities. The department is well equipped with lab facilities and have excellent infrastructure which is regularly upgraded and developed and maintained by the Campus and the corporate world. The department incorporate all areas such as Integrated Electronics and Circuits, Computer Technology, Tele-communications, Power Systems & Power Electronics, Control & Automation.
UNDER GRADUATE COURSES
B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics engineering is a 4 year degree course which provides excellent technical knowledge in the various domain of electrical engineering . At the end of the semester, the students are encouraged to design and build a project of their own choice. Electrical Engineers have wide range of career options in communications, control systems, robotics or sensor systems, power systems, AC and DC transmission system through theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Duration: 4 years
Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate in PCM 12th Standard or equivalent examination, recognized by State or Central Education Board. Candidates must have chosen five subjects and studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects in 12th Standard.
The SRM University has highly experienced faculty to guide the students to do research leading to Doctoral degree in various domain of electrical engineering. The department has well equipped infrastructure to do the advanced research in the related field like Automotive Electronics, Control Systems, power systems, Electrical Motors / Machines, Power Electronics & Drives and Renewable Energy. The objective of this course is to develop dynamic researcher of excellent technical skills which will contribute in the field of electrical engineering on the basis of their research.
Minimum duration for Ph.D. is 3 years including course work and maximum of 6 years (full time / part time).
Candidates must have completed Post graduation in the relevant discipline from a UGC recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate. However the candidate with M.Phil/NET/SLET /CSIR-UGC/JRF cleared in the relevant subject is exempted from Entrance test.
