Department of Chemistry was established in July 2013. The department has focused on teaching as well as high quality research (basic and multidisciplinary) in the frontier areas of chemistry and its interface with allied disciplines. The department has basic laboratory facilities and is going to be well equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities in upcoming days. The Department has well qualified teachers with excellent track record of research and teaching. The Department has collaboration with various national and international laboratories and institutions. The Department is offering BSc (Hons), M.Sc. and Ph.D. program along with the interdisciplinary programs. We have choice-based credit system (CBCS) with flexible and carrier-oriented curriculum and syllabus. The admission to P.G. and Ph.D. program is announced per year. Message from HOD:

Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, Haryana. The Department is functioning since 2013. You will find here inspiring teachers, enthusiastic students and talented researchers. We offer B.Sc (H), M.Sc and PhD programs in Chemistry and interdisciplinary topics. We encourage research into all disciplines of Chemistry and have interdisciplinary links with Department of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics. Department has a wide collaboration with Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi and Department of Biochemistry, VP Chest Institute, University of Delhi. The Department has eight highly qualified and dedicated faculty members with doctorate from renowned institutions in various specialization of Chemistry and with postdoctoral experience. The Department has state-of-the-art infrastructure for engineering chemistry lab, B.Sc. & M.Sc. chemistry labs and research lab and is actively involved in basic and applied research work. Besides, our objective is to prepare students for various competitive exams and shape their careers and ultimately, transform them into good human beings. The Department faculties have research expertise in various field of chemistry such as organic, inorganic, organometallic, nanomaterials, supramolecular chemistry, sensing, post translational modification of proteins and developing of lead molecule for the development of novel drug candidate.

B.Sc. - Chemistry (Hons.)

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination Science with Chemistry. Obtained at least 50% at the qualifying examination.

M.Sc. - Chemistry

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility:  Candidates must have passed graduation (B.Sc-Chemistry) or an equivalent examination in Chemistry from UGC recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate.

Ph.D. - Chemistry

Duration: Minimum duration for Ph.D. is 3 years including course work.

Eligibility:  Candidates must have passed Master's and Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from a UGC recognized University with 55% marks or Equivalent CGPA in aggregate. However an applicant with M.Phil( Relevant Domain)/CSIR-UGC/JRF/NET/SLET cleared in the relevant subject is exempted from Entrance test.
