PRISMA 2K19, the inter-cultural students’ fest, auspiciously coalesced with International Women’s Day, was aptly inaugurated by commemorating the martyrs of Pulwama attack by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P Prakash. A university that runs high on the patriotic spirit, and the culture and tradition of this great nation called India can only foster the greatest of minds and the future leaders of our nation. After lamp-lighting and invocation of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, art, wisdom and learning, Mr. Senthil Kumar, Director, Admission & Administration and Chairman, Cultural Committee, welcomed the gathering, and expressed that the fest is witnessing an overwhelming registration of 1000 plus students from reputed colleges and universities from Delhi-NCR. Prof. Samuel Raj, Dean Academic Affairs, wished the students well for their overwhelming initiatives for making the programme a wonderful event. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. P. Prakash, in his inaugural address, rightly appreciated the organizers, and mentioned that PRISMA 2K19, on its very first day witnesses the arrival of stars and rainbows on Earth in the form of the colorful, joyous future leadership of the world – the students of SRM University. The audience were enthralled by the mesmerizing dance performance by Reshma and Shivaganga, followed by Rhea’s Rajasthani folk-dance. The audience were scintillated and elated when Mr. Vikram Barara, the Controller of Examinations rendered a melodious song. The two-day long inter-cultural fest will be hosting an array of competitions and events such as debates, extempore, dance and music competitions and digital akhadajust to mention a few, and will end up with high-octane performances by Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai. The inaugural function ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Manish Bhalla, Registrar, followed by the national anthem.
