Student Orientation Day, also known as Fresher Celebration, serves as a valuable interaction session between first-year students, senior students, faculty members, and the administration. This event provides newcomers with insights into their respective departments, the university's culture, and the opportunities available to them.
The session commenced with an address from the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Dube. He imparted essential information to student rights, campus discipline, examination protocols, and the anti-ragging system.
Following the Dean's speech, Dr. Yogesh Kumar, the Head of the Department of Food Technology, took the stage. He provided newcomers with details about the department's facilities, including laboratories, research opportunities, courses offered, and potential career prospects. Subsequently, all faculty members engaged in interactive sessions with the new students, fostering a welcoming and informative environment.
In the concluding segment of the event, senior students interacted with the newcomers, sharing their experiences and insights. Additionally, they organized various engaging activities to help integrate the new students into the university community.
The event took place from September 1-10, 2023, in Room No. 302, Engineering Block, at SRM University, Delhi-NCR, located in Sonepat, Haryana, India.
