Research Interests

  • My research lies at the intersection of law, technology, human rights, and society.
  • I focus particularly on how emerging digital systems, especially those powered by artificial intelligence (AI), interact with:
  • Constitutional protections
    • Legal accountability
    • Access to justice
  • I adopt an interdisciplinary approach to examine these issues critically.
  • My work explores how legal frameworks evolve in response to technological innovation and societal change.

Current Courses Taught / Teaching Interest

With an interdisciplinary academic foundation in Cyber Security, Cyber Law, and Criminology, and a professional background that bridges legal practice, digital forensics, and social justice, my teaching and research interests are situated at the intersection of law, emerging technologies, and civil liberties. I am currently engaged in teaching courses that integrate developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a focus on its socio-legal implications, including algorithmic governance, data justice, and digital rights. The following courses reflect this multidisciplinary engagement:

  • Cyber Law, Artificial Intelligence, and the Information Technology Act This course explores foundational and evolving cyber legal frameworks with special focus on AI-generated content, liability of autonomous systems, AI bias and discrimination, deepfake regulation, and data protection in the era of algorithmic processing and machine learning.
  • Criminology, Predictive Analytics, and AI in Criminal Justice A critical evaluation of classical and contemporary criminological theories alongside practical case studies on the use of AI in surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, automated decision-making, and the implications these technologies pose for procedural fairness and human rights.
  • Human Rights, AI Ethics, and Digital Inequality Examining the intersection of artificial intelligence with constitutional and international human rights law, including the ethical implications of algorithmic decision-making, AI-led marginalization, digital profiling, and surveillance capitalism, especially in contexts affecting LGBTQIA+ and other vulnerable communities.
  • Constitutional Law, Automation, and Digital Citizenship An exploration of how AI and automated systems are reshaping interpretations of constitutional principles such as equality, privacy, and freedom of expression. Topics include AI's influence on electoral integrity, content moderation, and due process in administrative decision-making.
  • Cybersecurity, AI Threat Modelling, and Ethical Hacking A technically grounded interdisciplinary module covering AI-driven cyber-attacks, generative adversarial networks (GANs), algorithmic manipulation, and ethical considerations in designing AI for security operations, digital forensics, and defence infrastructure.

I am particularly interested in teaching and supervising research in the following evolving domains:

  • AI and Law
  • Cyber Law and Digital Rights
  • AI Ethics and Legal Accountability
  • Criminology and Predictive Technologies
  • Human Rights in the Age of AI
  • Algorithmic Bias, Fairness, and Transparency
  • Surveillance, Privacy, and Data Justice
  • Constitutionalism and Emerging Technologies
  • Cybersecurity Law and AI Risk Regulation
  • Law, Technology, and Society

My pedagogical philosophy is rooted in critical inquiry, intersectional justice, and experiential learning. I aim to equip students with the analytical tools to examine how emerging technologies, particularly AI, reshape foundational legal concepts such as autonomy, responsibility, liability, and equality. I encourage interdisciplinary dialogue between law, computer science, ethics, and policy to address the urgent need for regulatory frameworks that uphold justice, inclusion, and transparency in an AI-driven world.
